are we ready for some football?

Today I learned that:

• You can actually feed cats vegan cat food, but some of them will get urinary tract difficulties that, particularly in male cats, can be life-threatening, not to mention expensive, so people should either keep a very close eye on all things veterinary or just go ahead and feed them at least some meat.
• Nobody likes it when chemicals make them sick, so it turns out that breast cancer patients don't take the drugs they're supposed to take as long as doctors tell them to. Since the drugs were tested on healthy people, doctors thought they were more tolerable than they actually are to a bunch of people who, in my admittedly biased opinion, probably got breast cancer from chemicals in the first place.
• There is a whole society up in the mountains of Jamaica made up of the descendants of escaped slaves, and they still live pretty much like they used to and speak the same language their ancestors spoke in Africa, although after 300 years, the group is shrinking and the culture is getting diluted.

Last but not least, the quote of the day was delivered at halftime during a Super Bowl party in response to the question, "If that guy is playing an electric guitar in the rain, couldn't he get electrocuted?"
