disturbing behavior

Today I learned that if you don't brush your teeth, you can develop a layer of fermenting carbohydrates on your teeth along with your layer of plaque. This could explain why this one EI I know thinks she's sensitive to toothbrushes -- a toothbrush would knock the fermenting carbohydrates off your teeth, along with a bunch of bacteria, and there's no reason why you couldn't be sensitive to one or both.

The thing is that if I can't convince her she's wrong about toothbrushes, or that she can clean her teeth some other way, things are going to go badly.

I'm not sure I can do it. She's got chemicals in her brain, and it doesn't work right.

many with chemical sensitivities are sensitive to plastics, nylons and vinyls.
Toothbrushes are a common source of reactions.
Some have had success getting natural fibre brushes but the handle is still plastic and can be a problem. even more of a problem if the handle has vinyl on it which is really common now.
Some of the natural fiber brushes do have wood handles so if the person is okay with the terpenes in wood, that may be an option.
It's so sad that these basic necessities can be a source of reactions.

Dental floss is another thing many with MCS react to but some natural fiber, natural wax flosses are available.

The mouth is so extremely absorbant and it's important to put only things we don't react to in it! :)

there are a number of natural bristle brushes and non-synthetic flosses available.
I hope your friend finds something that is safe for her!
